The Jelenia Gora is not far from many interesting places that are worth seeing:

Prague - the capital and largest city of the Chech Republic. Situated in the central part of the country on the Vltava river. It is not only a modern metropolis but also a gem of architecture. Since 1992, the extensive historic center of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of twentieth century Europe. Main attractions include the following: Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Lennon Wall, and Petřín hill. Prague boasts more than ten major museums, along with countless theatres, galleries, cinemas, and other historical exhibits. Also, Prague is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including the famous Charles University. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination.

Dresden – is the capital city of the Free State of Saxony in Germany. It is situated in a valley on the River Elbe, near the Czech border. The Dresden conurbation is part of the Saxon Triangle metropolitan area. Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendor. The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its baroque and rococo city center. It attracts many tourists to learn about Saxon culture and history. While in Dresden you may see many interesting places such as: castle Zwinger, the Gallery of Old Master paintings, Porcelain Museum, Historical Museum, Numismatic Cabinet, Grones Vault – “Green Vault” (a collection of jewels), or New Master Gallery. Distance from camping is about 170 km.


Rock City – the Czech Teplice-Adrszpaskie rocks are concentrated close to each other and separated by narrow rocky chasm. There are not high mountains, but it is one of the best tourist attractions in Sudetenland. Some of the trails are very easy. Other one’s are more difficult, but are also the most beautiful, leading to wonderful places for sightseeing or to the ruins of castles. Distance from camping about 60 km.


Ksiaz Castle - is a part of the Piast Castles Route. It is the third largest castle in Poland (following after Malbork Castle and Wawel Royal Castle). Part of the building is open to the public. It was built in 1288-1292 by Prince Bolko I the Strict also known as the Raw or of Jawor. The castle is situated on a high rocky cliff over the picturesque surroundings. Distance from camping about 60 km.


Klodzko Basin - is a region in south-western part of Poland surrounded by Bardzkie Mountains, Golden Mountains, Bystryckie Mountains, Stolowe Mountains and the Sniezka Massif. At the heart of the valley lies Klodzko City, divided by Nysa Klodzka River along the north – south. The mountains surrounding the valley are very attractive place for tourists. In the Klodzka Basin is also known from many famous spa’s whose mineral waters are famous throughout the country.


Walim – Riese - is the code name of the largest mining and construction project of Nazi Germany, started and unfinished in the Sowie Mountains and under the Ksiaz Castle in 1943-1945. It is a term of one of the most mysterious engineering projects of World War II. Excavations of the underground galleries near Osowka and Gluszyca in the Sowie Mountains began in 1943, by slave labor prisoners of various nationalities from Gross Rosen concentration camp, most probably in order to set up there a factory of Hitler’s secret weapons. Approximately 1,700 meters of a subterranean trail consisting of passages and caverns can be visited. Another complex of underground galleries and shafts was built near Walim towards the end of WWII. The tourist trail (750m) can be visited with a guide. An exhibition related to Hitler’s various headquarters and the Third Reich’s subterranean factories of weaponry was arranged under the ground.


Bohemian Paradise – is a place where the romantic city of the valley and numerous rocks interspersed with meadows and wooden architecture. There are many beautiful medieval castles and places. Among the most important to mention are: Sychrov, Hruby Rohozec, Mnichovo Hradiste, Detenice, Trosky, Kost, and many others. There are a lot of breathtaking rocky points and observation towers. Bohemian Paradise is situated less than 50 kilometers northeast of Prague. Distance from camping about 80 km.


Colorful Lakes - is a complex of ponds in the Massif of Great Kopa in Rudawy Janowickie formed in the place of the old German mine workings dated back to 1785. Ponds are located at different heights and the smallest one, Zielony Stawek (Black Pond) periodically dries. We can admire the Purple Pond which the color of water comes from copper and iron compounds, contained in the walls and bottom of the excavation. There are also Green, Blue and Emerald ponds which are also beautiful. Distance from camping about 20 km.
